Our visit to Kyoto was an incredibly inspiring trip, I must have taken thousands of photos and whilst rummaging around a tiny antique shop I came across this divine 17th century wooden sake flask carved from a single piece of wood.

I always loved the idea of using an indigo finish for a sideboard based on the faded, patched and stitched patterns of old Japanese Boro textiles, traditionally worn by humble fishermen.
