AN ENGLISH ROSE IN TOKYo

an english rose in tokyo

I was very inspired by the story of an English rose garden on a visit to Kita district,Tokyo.

Kyu Furukawa was designed by the English architect Josiah Conder, nicknamed the father of Japanese modern architecture.

In this first at home collection, I combined the gorgeous rose colours of the gardens, traditional blossoms of Japanese kimonos with the indigo shibori patterns in all shades of blue then balanced the print and pattern with modernist shapes.

This is a really shows how I like to mix things up!
