From a trip to Kyoto

Our visit to Kyoto was an incredibly inspiring trip, I must have taken thousands of photos and whilst rummaging around a tiny antique shop I came across this divine 17th century wooden sake flask carved from a single piece of wood.

I certainly would have bought it home had it not cost £15,000 so I asked if I could photograph it for a furniture idea instead! This shows the design journey that led to my creation of a dimpled hunk of wood named Atrumed, this coffee table and stool are a favourite part of my collection for Four Hands.
